Action Research Plan

Considering the fast pace of education and the increasing demand for innovation in teaching approaches, this action research determines the impact of gamification on pre-kindergarten students’ mathematics learning. As a pre-kindergarten teacher, I have experienced how children manage to grasp basic mathematical concepts at an early stage of education. Traditional methodologies hardly help to keep the attention of younger students; they learn better through interactive and hands-on approaches. Mathematics is too abstract and complicated for them; rather than making it more difficult, they need methods that simplify ideas and lead children to participate actively.

My innovation plan should transcend this challenge by responding to students' diverse interests and needs in a more engaging learning environment. Therefore, this action research investigates this instructional model regarding the effect on students’ engagement, understanding, and retention of mathematical concepts and provides much-needed insights into pedagogical practices that best promote meaningful and long-lasting learning experiences. Action research also addresses the higher order of promoting effective teaching strategies that could ensure the success of students' lifelong learning by cultivating deeper, more lasting learning and long-term support in student education. I have attached my action research plan below for you to review.
