COVA Framework

The COVA approach provides students with diverse choice(C), ownership(O), and voice(V) through authentic opportunities. This approach established meaningful learning environments (CSLE),it has significantly impacted my learning due to the fact that they are innovative technologies that allow me to choose the path to effective learning according to my interests and needs while taking ownership of my own learning experiences.

Although it has not been an easy path, I am optimistic about the learning process. When I started studying at ADL, I was worried because I had doubts about presenting knowledge and learning experiences. I did not know if I was doing the right thing in the structure and development of the evaluations, so I had to change my learning paradigm in a meaningful way. I was used to traditional didactic models, where the teacher is the one who decides how the students should act. The teacher organizes, presents the information, and has total control of learning. The students can only share the assignments with the teacher; they only concentrate on a study plan where said evaluation is based on the material offered, covering what is required, and where there is little tolerance for errors and failure. If they use the portfolio, it is like storing information that is later summarized, which is a waste of time because the objective is to be corrected by the teacher to be able to complete another evaluation. Now, at ADL it is the opposite; through the COVA approach, I am in control of making decisions to achieve my academic goal.

Moreover, I can say that COVA seems like a beautiful challenge where I apply the magic word "STILL" and that with effort, determination, and perseverance solve all the mistakes that I, as a human being can make. At the same time, I am learning about tools that can contribute to my educational community's ideas to change from the traditional approach to the digital future approach. And furthermore be able to contribute to developing my children's learning to reach their maximum potential.
